Metro's Responsible Procurement Policy

Metro presented its responsible procurement policy on June 13 at Espace Rive-Sud, during a working breakfast organized by the Conseil de la transformation alimentaire du Québec (CTAQ), the umbrella organization for the province’s food processors. The QPMA’s Marie de Tarlé attended the event. To provide the best possible customer experience and fulfill its role as a leader in sustainable development initiatives, 4 key principles determine Metro’s responsible procurement practices and product selection priority criteria: business ethics, respect for workers and contribution to social and economic development, protection of the environment, and respect for animal health and welfare. These principles are now in effect and will be applied as part of a continuous improvement approach in cooperation with all Metro banners and suppliers.
