Montreal, November 12, 2018 - The 33rd edition of the QPMA Oyster Party took place on November 2nd at Le Rizz reception halls in St-Léonard. It was in a very friendly atmosphere that all members were able to take advantage of this unique networking opportunity with their customers, friends and suppliers of the QPMA the network at the heart of Quebec's fruit and vegetable industry!
Evening: business, pleasure, oysters and delicious buffet!
The nearly 500 guests, including nearly 100 next-generation members, were warmly welcomed by Dino Farrese (Bellemont Powell), Chairman of the Board, Yan Branco (IGA), Convention President, Nick Méti (Emballages Marcan), the president of the event and as well as the association's CEO, Sophie Perreault. The participants had the chance to enjoy two tasty varieties of oysters, and enjoy the delicious dishes of the buffet! The participants were able to establish fruitful business relationships.
Special meeting: unveiling the financial statement and conference.
Earlier in the day, the QPMA held a special meeting where Isabelle Du Paul and Yan Jubinville of Deloitte presented the financial statements to the members. It was also an opportunity for the whole board of directors to recognize the new outgoing governor Roland Lafont (Vergers St-Paul). His ideas, his passion for the industry and his involvement in the association’s activities were warmly and sincerely welcomed.
Ms. Sophie Perreault took advantage of this meeting to interactively present the progress of the strategic plan and the many projects of the association using the Polls Everywhere real-time polling application. Ms. Johanne Auger of the law firm BCF was invited to give a mini-conference on the integration of trademarks and their logotypes, including the I Love Fruits and Veggies Movement one. A useful and relevant presentation for the members. Mr. Stephan Schmekel (VegPro) presented the new regulations of the association previously revised by Mrs. Johanne Auger (BCF).
Finally, two members were confirmed in their duties. They are Ian Routhier (Krops Import) elected as wholesaler and Christian Riopel (Loblaw Group) appointed by the chain.
