The world leader in organic cranberry processing and the second largest player in organic wild blueberries, Fruit d'Or, has chosen Saint-Hyacinthe to establish its research and development activities. This large Quebec company will therefore operate its new Center of Excellence in developing berries in the heart of the City of agri-food, veterinary and agri-environmental biotechnology park.
Fruit d'Or’s research and development department is therefore integrating its new Maskoutan facilities now. This will bring together experts in the areas of retail, ingredients and nutraceuticals and cosmetics. Its activities will be as varied as the development of new products, the development and improvement of production processes, and participation in various scientific and innovation projects with research and educational institutions. Six new jobs will be created in Saint-Hyacinthe.
"The choice to locate our R&D activities in Saint-Hyacinthe was a natural one. Our company already collaborates here with Cintech agroalimentaire and the Research and Development Center of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. This allowed us to see that there is nowhere else to find such a complete ecosystem linked to innovation and support for businesses in the agrifood sector, "said Fruit d'Or President Martin Le Monk.
This new center of excellence will take place in the Victor-Théodule-Daubigny pavilion, a building owned by Saint-Hyacinthe Technopole dedicated to hosting innovative companies in the food industry.

Recall that Fruit d'Or transforms and promotes Quebec berries such as cranberries and wild blueberries. Founded in 2000 and based in Villeroy, the company employs around 300 people. Its wide range of products is intended for food processing, the nutraceutical market and consumers. It exports its products to around fifty countries.
