Placement and recruitment of temporary foreign workers: new permit and new obligations in force.

New labor standards have been in effect since January 1, 2020. The main changes affect the placement of personnel and the recruitment and hiring of temporary foreign workers. First, personnel placement agencies and temporary foreign worker recruitment agencies must hold a CNESST permit. Second, companies doing business with an agency must ensure that the agency is licensed by the CNESST. Third, employers who hire temporary foreign workers must declare it to the CNESST. To find out all about the new obligations, visit the CNESST website. cnesst.gouv.qc.ca/agences
