The overabundance of peas, beans and sweet corn in 2019 will have had a positive impact on the Harvest-Donation program! The 42 farms participating in this allowed the Federation of Quebec Producers of Processed Fruits and Vegetables (FQPFLT) to exceed by 4% its objective of providing 100,000 pounds of processed vegetables to Quebec food banks, i.e. equivalent to 500,000 servings. Since the program’s launch in 2014, more than 3.5 million servings, or 305 tonnes of vegetables, have been delivered to Quebec charities by producers and processor Bonduelle Americas.
