At the last board of directors meeting, held in conjunction with the 2017 Convention, a motion of congratulations, proposed by Dino Farrese and seconded by Stephan Schmekel, was unanimously approved by all directors present.
The motion followed the appointment of Gérard Trudeau by the Embassy of Canada as the Honorary Ambassador of Canada 150, in recognition of his continued efforts to promote Canada-Dominican relations.
Trudeau was also invited to the table of honour during the Closing Banquet.
