Quebec government announces financial support for "Tablée des chefs"

On the occasion of the launch of the Nourrir le monde (feed the world) social movement to replace the La Tablée des chefs food recovery program, the Government of Quebec announced that it would provide the new organization with $5 million in financial assistance over five years.

The initiative also supports the orientations of MAPAQ’s 2018-2025 Biofood Policy – Feeding Our People. Among other things, the Biofood Policy aims at increasing knowledge about food and starting a conversation on the subject with consumers. Reducing waste and food loss, as well as promoting food donations, are also among the objectives of the policy.

La Tablée des Chefs (tableful of chefs) founder and executive director Jean-François Archambault was visibly moved by the government’s support. “It’s the pat on the back we really needed to do even more, to push the envelope for this vital social movement,” he said.
