Infections associated with romaine lettuce grown in the Yuma region of the United States.

More than 120 people from 25 US states have been sick since early April after eating so romaine lettuce from the Yuma region of Arizona. We can count one death in California.

For example, The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has been monitoring the situation in the United States since someone passed away from eating e-coli contaminated romaine lettuce.

On May 10, we can notifiy six cases of infection in Canada. This cases has the same genetic print as the one from America.

According to the current investigation, the risk for population is very low. This lettuce from Yuma is no longer cultivated or distributed which reduce the risk of exposure. This product has 21 days duration storage.
